Dave has helped hundreds of companies improve manufacturing and supply chain performance over the last 30 years. He has unparalleled first-hand knowledge of manufacturing functions and management practices, systems and software for manufacturers and supply chain management. He specializes in process improvement, gaining benefits from manufacturing systems, and increasing user understanding and effectiveness through training and education. His exceptional analytical and communication skills are demonstrated by his published books, articles, papers and speeches.

Dave is available to provide advice and assistance to manufacturing companies that:

  • Are having problems with productivity, on-time completion of work, inventory control, cost accounting, or planning and scheduling
  • Are not using their manufacturing systems (MRPII/ERP) to their full potential
  • Have selected a new system (or nearly so) and need help organizing the implementation effort
  • Want to educate company employees about what manufacturing systems can and should do – and how to implement and utilize them successfully
  • Have decided to acquire a new system and want some help with the selection process
  • Have a “stalled” system implementation and need advice as to how to get back on track
  • Have an older system and are not sure whether to replace it, enhance it, or just use it better
  • Are embarking on an implementation project and want an experienced, objective observer to monitor (quality control) the process

Education & Training

A professional educator, Dave has delivered over 3,500 hours of education and training classes in private on-site company sessions as well as public classes, using his own curriculum materials, special custom-developed materials to address the particular company’s concerns, and using APICS licensed materials (e.g., CPIM, CSCP). As a Master instructor in both CSCP and CPIM, Dave can deliver standard APICS materials including all of the CPIM classes, CSCP (supply chain), customer-focused SCM (for non-supply chain professionals), Fundamentals of Materials and Operations Management, and APICS workshops.

Course descriptions can be found at APICS.

Dave is Certified Trainer in The Fresh Connection supply chain simulation. By using advanced simulation software TFC calculates the consequences of strategic and tactical decisions made by the team comprised of Purchasing, Operations, Supply Chain and Sales.  A different way of learning, TFC puts participants at the heart of a fictional but realistic company so they can experience the impact of every decision they make.  Dave can deliver this learning experience at your facility, in a local or regional location, or on-line.

Dave is the current President of the Granite State Chapter of APICS and Vice President for education.   Contact us if you’re interested in attending a Professional Development Meeting (PDM) usually held on the 3rd Tuesday of the month.  As an experienced ERP/Supply Chain consultant, educator and communicator, with many years of professional public speaking experience,  Dave is available to speak at other APICS chapter PDM dinner meetings and chapter seminar speaking opportunities.

Dave can assemble a custom educational program for your company, of whatever duration desired, covering the areas you need, ranging from basic concepts and procedures to general and generic manufacturing and supply chain concepts and ideas.

Specializing in plant management – inventory control, manufacturing management, planning and scheduling, production workflow and dispatching, work center analysis (input/output, efficiency, utilization), as well as Lean, and cost accounting.

Dave is available to present, in-person or online, in conjunction with a consulting engagement or as a stand-alone activity. All classes and seminars can be focused on specific situations at your plant or office using a combination of generic materials and specific examples and details from your environment. Duration is tailored to the need and your budget. Any class can be delivered in full-day or part-day increments – days, evenings, early mornings or during late shifts. Class sessions can be repeated to educate all shifts or to accommodate employee rotation so work can continue (e.g., class for half of the crew in the morning and the same class for the other half of the crew in the afternoon).
