Cloud computing is an established technology, even though it is continuing to evolve and is not, as yet anyway, the default option for system deployment. There are many different types of cloud computing. The one characteristic they all have in common is that IT resources – infrastructure, servers, storage, and/or applications are resident at a remote location and used in lieu of locally resident “on premises” equipment and facilities.
